Sustainability

As a third-generation family business, we take a holistic approach to sustainability – encompassing environmental, economic and social aspects. In the development and production of our enclosures, control cabinets and support arm systems, we take responsibility for future generations. Our aim is to create innovative industrial enclosures and system solutions that conserve resources whilst meeting the highest quality standards. For us, sustainable practices are an integral part of our corporate strategy. That is why we are constantly reviewing how we can make our processes in the mechanical engineering and automation sectors even more efficient, environmentally friendly and future-proof.

Processing of recycled materials

Aluminium is one of the most important materials used in industrial enclosure manufacturing – and is also virtually infinitely recyclable. By using recycled aluminium, we reduce energy consumption by up to 95% and significantly lower CO₂ emissions. That is why we consistently rely on recycled materials in the manufacture of our industrial enclosures, control enclosures, profiles and support arm systems. Furthermore, we are currently developing a new, particularly sustainable enclosure series made entirely from recycled materials and produced in a carbon-neutral manner – a further step towards resource-efficient system solutions for industry.

Green electricity – energy from solar power

Energy efficiency is a key component of our production process. We invested in modern technologies at an early stage, including a combined heat and power plant to meet our own energy needs. Today, solar panels installed on our production halls complement this infrastructure and cover around 40% of our electricity requirements. For our additional energy requirements, we source only certified green electricity. In this way, we ensure that the manufacture of our housing and system solutions in the fields of mechanical engineering and automation is as climate-friendly as possible – efficient, sustainable and forward-looking.

Water conservation & recycling

The responsible use of resources is an integral part of our manufacturing processes. The wastewater generated during the machining of our housings and system components is not simply discharged, but is treated in a closed-loop system and reused. In addition, we have invested in a modern vacuum evaporation plant featuring energy-efficient heat pump technology. This enables us to recover water from cleaning processes and reuse it. In this way, we save around 600,000 litres of water annually whilst simultaneously optimising our production processes in line with sustainable industrial practices.

Waste disposal & recycling

Efficient waste management is a key factor in ensuring sustainable and cost-effective production processes. That is why, at ROLEC, we rely on strong partners in the circular economy to make the best possible use of recyclable materials and achieve closed-loop material cycles. The reprocessing and return of materials to the production process makes sense both ecologically and economically and supports our sustainable corporate strategy. Through structured waste disposal processes and modern recycling concepts, we continuously improve our efficiency whilst actively contributing to environmental protection in the industrial sector.

Environmental bonus

Promoting sustainable mobility is a key part of the energy transition. As part of the Innovation Bonus scheme, the European Union, together with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, supports the purchase of electric vehicles. This measure helps to reduce emissions and supports businesses on their journey towards climate-friendly technologies – a further building block for sustainable development in industry and the economy.
