History
Since its foundation in the mid-1980s, ROLEC has stood for innovation, technical expertise and continuous development in enclosure technology. What began as a family-run business has, over the decades, developed into an internationally successful manufacturer of electronic enclosures, suspension arm systems and HMI enclosures – with clear values, high quality and a strong focus on customised solutions.
The success story began with a specific customer requirement: at that time, no such thing as an empty, sealed metal enclosure existed. Friedhelm Rose subsequently developed the first industrial enclosure of its kind – marking the start of a new product range. With this innovation, he laid the foundation for modern industrial enclosures, the subsequent development of ROLEC and an entirely new industry.
By moving to larger production facilities and developing integrated mounting channels, Friedhelm Rose set new standards in enclosure technology. This design principle is now regarded as the global standard. Despite strong growth and international partnerships, differing visions led to a split – and to a temporary withdrawal from the industry.
After gaining a wealth of international experience, Friedhelm Rose returned to enclosure technology with fresh ideas. In 1985, he filed a novel patent for revolutionary single-channel technology and founded ROLEC Gehäuse-Systeme GmbH. Together with his son Matthias and his daughter Betty, he established a family business in Rinteln with a clear focus on innovative enclosure solutions.
ROLEC has established itself as a driving force behind new solutions in enclosure technology. With user-focused developments, new product ranges and numerous patents, the company set new standards early on. The focus has always been clearly on functionality, quality and practical innovation for industrial applications.
As demand grew, ROLEC invested in new production capacity, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and additional office space. At the same time, product ranges such as industrial enclosures, control enclosures and suspension arm systems were continuously developed. This expansion significantly strengthened the company’s international market position.
ROLEC has set new trends with its design-oriented enclosures and suspension arm systems. Products such as aluDISC, profiPLUS and multiPANEL combine technology and design to the highest standard. The range has been consistently expanded with further innovations such as profiPANEL.
Despite challenging market conditions, ROLEC is steadfastly pursuing its innovation strategy. New systems such as taraSMART, aluDOOR and profiCASE demonstrate the company’s strength in development and design. The focus remains clear: sustainable enclosure solutions for modern industrial applications.
